Engine

All 2022 and 2023 Ford Ranger trucks include a sole engine option powered by a 2.3L turbo-four designed for maximum efficiency.

Performance & MPG

The 2022 and 2023 Ford Ranger earn an EPA-estimated 21/26 mpg with the base model. If you upgrade to a four-wheel-drive model, the numbers drop slightly to 20/24 mpg.

Horsepower

The 2022 and 2023 Ford Rangers push out 270 horsepower from the engine, producing 310 pound-feet of torque.

Transmission

All 2022 and 2023 Ford Ranger trucks come equipped with a ten-speed automatic transmission. You can enjoy a smooth ride with this advanced transmission.

The 2022 and 2023 Ford Ranger has a SuperCab configuration with a 6' truck bed, and the SuperCrew model includes a 5' truck bed. With the right equipment, the new Ranger handles a maximum payload capacity of up to 1,860 pounds.

The 2023 and 2022 Ford Ranger XL trims are meant to be used as a work truck, and it comes standard with a Wi-Fi hotspot, a four-speaker audio system, and a USB port. The XLT trim has much more to offer with its eight-inch infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. 

Ratings & Reviews

The 2022 Ford Ranger has earned decent IIHS safety test scores. Car and Driver says, "The 2022 Ford Ranger is the mid-size Ford-brand pickup truck that should suit your lifestyle without draining your bank account." The safety test ratings from the IIHS are nearly identical on the 2023 Ford Ranger. Additionally, Car and Driver says, "The Ranger is a comfy and capable mid-sizer with plenty of towing muscle." While Car and Driver also has a review for the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor, this model won't arrive until 2024.
