Phil Long Ford of Chapel Hills: Driving Good in Our Colorado Communities
At Phil Long Ford of Chapel Hills, our mission extends far beyond providing exceptional vehicles and automotive service. Guided by our core philosophy to be a "100-year-old force for good," we believe that a successful business should be a cornerstone of the community it serves.
Since our doors first opened in 1945, Phil Long Dealerships have been deeply committed to investing in people, empowering local organizations, and enriching the lives of our neighbors. From our central hub in Colorado Springs to communities across Denver, Pueblo, and the surrounding Front Range, we are proud to give back to the regions where our customers and employees live, work, and thrive.
Pillar 1: Honoring and Supporting Our Military & Veterans
With deep roots in the armed forces-including military service by our founder Mr. Phil Long (U.S. Navy) and past CEO Jay Cimino (U.S. Marines)-supporting active-duty service members, veterans, and their families is a foundational part of who we are.

Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center
In 2016, our leadership founded the Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center, a dedicated non-profit organization designed to provide military members and veterans with access to critical, life-changing resources. Mt. Carmel assists with military-to-civilian transitions, job placement, behavioral health and wellness, and emergency family assistance. Led by retired military leaders, the center has proudly served tens of thousands of clients across Colorado.
Annual Giveback Campaigns & Operation Home Support
- Veterans Appreciation Month: Every November, Phil Long Ford of Chapel Hills hosts a dedicated giveback event, donating a portion of proceeds from every vehicle sold directly to the Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center.
- Operation Home Support: Recognizing the unique challenges faced by military families during deployment, this program provides emergency automotive assistance, mechanical services, and roadside help to the spouses and families of deployed soldiers.
Whether you are stationed at Fort Carson, living in Fountain, or commuting from Pueblo, we stand dedicated to serving those who served our country.
Pillar 2: Empowering Colorado Youth and Education
We believe that investing in our youth is the single most effective way to build a brighter future for Colorado. Through intentional partnerships, we work to ensure children have safe places to play, learn, and grow.
The Phil Long Community Fund (PLCF)
Established in 1991, the Phil Long Community Fund provides crucial financial grants to 501(c)(3) youth-based organizations across the Front Range. The fund champions self-esteem, education, youth sports, and recreational opportunities for children who need it most, giving out over $2 million in grants since its inception.
The "Fantasy Playground" Project
In partnership with local charities and civic organizations, Phil Long helped pioneer the construction of "Fantasy Playgrounds." These massive, custom-designed community playgrounds give local children creative input on the design. To date, numerous playgrounds, skate parks, and athletic centers have been built by hundreds of Phil Long employees and neighborhood volunteers in cities ranging from Denver and Aurora to Colorado Springs.
Local School Partnerships
We continuously support elementary schools, high schools, and local colleges from Monument to Castle Rock. By funding educational initiatives, sponsoring local sports teams, and offering automotive mentorship and internship opportunities, we help bridge the gap between education and sustainable local careers.
Pillar 3: Health, Wellness, and Environmental Responsibility
A thriving community requires access to quality healthcare, wellness support, and a commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the Centennial State.
Pikes Peak United Way
For over 50 years, Phil Long Dealerships have partnered with Pikes Peak United Way and its sister chapters. Through corporate matchmaking and our passionate employee-giving campaigns, our team has raised more than $3 million to fund local programs addressing poverty, homelessness, and economic instability.
Health Advocacy and Awareness
Our team actively rallies behind critical healthcare causes. Every year, our staff proudly participates in the Legacy Race Battling Breast Cancer Walk and hosts community blood drives and mental health awareness campaigns to ensure our neighbors in Woodland Park, Manitou Springs, and Cañon City have the support they need.
Driving a Greener Colorado
As an automotive leader, we take environmental sustainability seriously. In addition to adopting eco-friendly practices within our advanced collision and service centers, we actively promote the adoption of hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs) to help protect Colorado's beautiful mountain ecosystems.
Pillar 4: Seasonal Giving & Hands-On Volunteerism
Charity isn't just about financial contributions; it's about showing up when people need it most. Our employees are given paid Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to get directly involved in local food drives, toy drives, and community cleanup projects.
12 Days of Giving
During the 12 business days leading up to the holidays, Phil Long employees participate in our annual "12 Days of Giving" campaign. Our teams spend this time volunteering at local soup kitchens, delivering toys to families in need, and spreading holiday cheer from Cripple Creek to Colorado Springs.
